Zone Nursing
Goal:
The goal of the Zone Nursing Officer is to monitor and provide quality assurance in nursing practices and procedures.
Objective:
The objective of the Zone Nursing Officer position is to provide professional supervision and advice to the community in regards to nursing program and practices.
Focus:
- Assist in the recruitment and selection of qualified Nursing professionals;
- Arrange and/or provide orientation for the Nursing professionals on nursing procedures, health programs and mandatory reporting requirements;
- Assist in establishing policies specific to nursing and provide clarification of laws, regulations, policies, guidelines, standards and procedures;
- Identify supplies required by the health unit, especially in regards to medical supplies and, equipment;
- Devise, recommend and introduce improved nursing techniques;
- Assess the need for development of the skills, knowledge and/or abilities of the Nursing professionals;
- Supply information about courses, workshops and conferences in the area of nursing to benefit the health program;
- Provide resource information;
- Provide advise to the health program on the development and updating the Nursing professional's job descriptions;
- Provide quality assurance in nursing procedures such as charting and program reviews.
